Funds distributed from the endowment shall be used to provide scholarships to medical students who are Texas residents, with preference given to those students who are considered “non-traditional” by UTMB. Examples of non-traditional students include, but are not limited to, those who are returning to school after a prolonged absence, such as those who have not been enrolled in an educational program for several years; students with a family to support; and students who are working full time.
