Hector P. Garcia, MD Endowed Presidential Scholarship

Hector P. Garcia, MD Endowed Presidential Scholarship – Funds distributed from the endowment shall be used to provide scholarships for the greatest needs of students with academic excellence enrolled in the School of Medicine. Donor requests the following criteria to be considered when selecting the recipient(s):

-Be in good academic standing.
-A graduate from a high school in the state of Texas with preferential consideration given to students from Corpus Christi, Texas or one of the counties of the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
-Submit a 1,500 word essay describing life accomplishments of Dr. Hector P. Garcia that are relevant to their own pursuit of medicine in regards to commitment to personal and professional development of cultural competency skills and leadership and service in cross-cultural activities.
